GoSociafy : Given the racist history of the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Department and the Baldwin Police Department, GoSociafy is demanding an independent investigation from Louisiana state Attorney General Jeff Landry.No one has been arrested for Quawan’s death yet. The police officers involved did not take the necessary action that could have saved Quawan’s life. The family was left to raise funds to conduct their own independent autopsy to determine Quawan’s true cause of death.Ī 15 year-old boy was lynched in Louisiana last week. The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office refused to show the Charles family exactly where Quawan was found. However, graphic images have been released showing that Quawan was clearly tortured and disfigured in a way similar to Emmitt Till. Quawan was found by the Iberia Parish Deputies days later in a sugar cane field and officers have said the cause of death was drowning. They did not file an Amber alert and they purposely neglected Quawan’s case.
The BPD told the Charles family that Quawan was probably at a football game and asked if he had a troubled past. When Quawan’s family reported him missing, the Baldwin Police Department and Iberia Parish deputies completely mishandled the case. He went missing on October 30th, when he was picked up by the white 17 year-old Gavin Irvin and his white mother Janet Irvin, without Quawan’s parent’s knowledge or permission.
